The Best Pants for Winter

Written By : Jacqueline Rappa

It’s the first week of December and we’re finally starting to feel that winter chill outside. We’ve officially reached the point where it’s too cold to wear our favorite skirts. Yes, fleece stockings can be worn underneath, but some days the tight fabric feels unbearable. Sweatpants are a cozy option for when we’re at home and jeans work for casual errand running, but what about when we want to feel both elevated and comfy?

Here are the must-have types of pants to keep in your closet for the next few months:

  1. Corduroy Pants: Corduroy fabric is thick and will keep you warm, making these pants a popular choice for the season. They are a versatile base for your outfits, whether you pair them with an oversized cardigan or fitted button-down. Opting for rich colors like brown or deep purple makes these pants even more of a winter staple.

2. Wide-Leg Trousers: This is the perfect example of a piece that takes you from day to night. Trousers are effortless to style, whether you choose a solid color or pinstripe design. These wide-leg pants are timeless all year, but especially on those dreary days when deciding what to wear feels impossible. You can go for a minimalist look pairing them with a cable knit sweater or add personal flair with a belt and statement jacket.

3. Velvet Pants: Have plans tonight? Trade your pajama pants for velvet pants and feel just as relaxed. The loose, flowing velvet fabric seamlessly fits into the boho chic aesthetic. For a more refined feel, wear a matching blazer to create an entire velvet look. Winter is the ideal season to experiment with the variety of outfits this fabric can create.

4. Metallic Pants: If you love to be on trend and make a statement, add metallic pants to your winter wardrobe. They create a subtly shiny appearance, adding a hint of glitz to an
everyday look. Swap your jeans for metallic pants on a night out and your outfit will radiate a fashion-forward feel.
