—please groundhog, we can’t take winter any longer

Written By : Annalisa Frumento

The winter has never really been my thing, but not just because of the cold weather and the subsequent dry skin. I want to be vibrant and play with texture, not be covered up by my Superpuff all season long! So long with gloves, and welcome back rings and hand chains! As winter gives us her last shocks, let’s take a look at some trends and pieces I am excited to wear this spring.

The rise in Emilio Pucci patterns has been one of my personal favorite trends. The vibrant colors are a perfect pop for the transitional season. If not an entire outfit, a scarf worn around the neck or even as a pashmina is a cute way to add some vibrancy to your look.  If I won the lottery I would not tell anybody but there would be signs… the main one being my wardrobe transitioning from pucci to missoni every spring into summer!

I also cannot wait to wear skirts again. Long denim skirts were huge last spring, and something I will definitely be vying for this season. A cowboy boot denim skirt combo can just never get old, whether it is long or short it is always a major vibe. Another spring staple I can’t wait to bring out of my closet again is my long flowy skirt. Call me basic, but it’s definitely from Brandy Melville. A flowy skirt is a perfect way to bring some life into an outfit that you may have thought would look better with jeans. Even accessories are better with warmer weather. If you are a mixed metal girl like me, it is time to bring out the gold! Statement necklaces and rings that aren’t covered up by mittens and turtlenecks, it is finally their time to shine.

Spring in girl code means fun, we all know that! Spicing up your wardrobe doesn’t have to be crazy, it can be subtle. And I cannot wait to finally dress for warmer weather. So please, for the sake of mine and all of our sanity, Punxsutawney Phil please please please do not see that shadow!
