—I tried luxury self care in Manhattan

My experience at The Bathhouse (Flatiron location)

After a long week of bustling crowds, slow subways, classes and the drama of being a girl in New York, I wanted a getaway. After learning about the Bathhouse, I was immediately intrigued but very nervous. I packed my swimsuit, and went after a long day of classes. It’s safe to say I was not disappointed.

The bathhouse consists of multiple hot pools, cold plunges and steam rooms and saunas. The luxury spa bathhouse has multiple levels of relaxation, as day passes are offered, as well as multiple spa and massage treatments. The cherry on top? They also have a wonderful restaurant! I had no expectations going in, but coming out I was relaxed and very impressed by my time at the baths.

I paid $69 for a day pass, but they are not always this much. I came at rush hour and bought the pass last minute. Every penny was worth it though. When I got to the spa I was welcomed by kind staff, and the locker rooms are SO luxurious. You are given a wristband upon entering which you use to lock the lockers, and it also links your card, so you can pay at the restaurant without worry. The phone free space is perfectly thought out and feels like such a perfect way to unplug.

The locker rooms are almost as impressive as the facilities themselves, as they come equipped with luxury  showers, hair dryers, moisturizer body wash and hair products. Even mouthwash and hair ties are provided! Before even entering the baths, I felt taken care of and treated like a queen!

I grabbed my sandals and a towel after exploring the room and headed towards the baths!

I am SO impressed by the vastness and also cleanliness of the baths and rooms. I tried every bath (even the cold plunge much to my dismay) and spent some time in the steam room as well as saunas. I was totally relaxed and in ‘the zone’. I continued to unwind at the restaurant when I ordered an amazing sweet potato dish. After spending about 3 hours at the bath, I took a shower and left. Heartbreaking, I know!

Back to unseasonably cold NYC I went… but do know, I will be back! What a perfect little adventure I had in which I got to try something new and feel more zen than ever, and especially more than I thought I could ever achieve in the Flatiron district! I recommend the bathhouse to everybody.
