—Experimenting With Wellness

Written By : Annalisa Frumento

With the rise of wellness culture and the fine line between that and 90’s diet culture resurgence, it's hard to find balance within the madness in the health world. We have never had so much information, but we have also never had so much misinformation especially with social media. I want to see for myself what’s worthwhile, and I feel like I have pretty much filtered all of the *BS*. I’m not going to become the female Clavicular, or start pushing peptides onto anybody, but there are definitely a few things I have tried that have made a positive impact on my health and wellness.

Firstly, I fell victim to being a pilates princess. I only say victim because of how difficult it can be sometimes though! I feel so rewarded after each practice and class, and I like to do it myself at home with the help of some of my favorite instructors. (Mind you, they’ve never met me) Tawny Janae, who I found through Alo Moves, but she also has a youtube channel where she posts some burner workouts that are perfect for me, as I’m trying to start writing my own mat routines. Along with Pilates I’ve implemented some strength training which is definitely a scary part of the gym, to be around all the Bros and Chads, but I feel stronger than ever. Pilates, yeah, it’s worth the hype.

I am not big on supplements, mainly because I am a firm believer that supplementation is a bad sign of a poor diet. I am a skeptic, sue me! I have been taking vitamin C shots and Magnesium from time to time though, and I do see a difference. The Vitamin C helps me to feel better when I'm sick or just having a slow morning honestly. I could always just eat an Orange, but the Glow Shots from Alo Yoga ( Glow Shots) also have other vitamins in it as well. The old-fashioned Emergen-C also works just fine too! The magnesium pills I take are just the CVS brand, but I find taking these before sleep helps me be more rested and helps me wake up less puffy. (The depuff could be placebo, but let me have this)

I’ve not tried cold showers or microdosing any weird drugs, at least not yet… For now I am comfortable with my entry level wellness, and will continue to explore things that make me feel good, in the pursuit of a happy life and also debunking some of the lies that are out there. I’ll try the Rhode Peptide Glaze as my next endeavor, and a review is sure to come! For now though, peptides are scary and I like my little immunity shots. Wellness is all about YOU, don't let anybody tell you what is best for you, only you can do that!
