The Summer Edit: June Landing

Written & Interviewed By : Mallory Doyle

A mix of sunshine, sea breeze, and soft linen totes; that’s the feeling we got when the Havens team discovered June Landing on TikTok. Nestled in the coastal charm of Door County, Wisconsin (aka what I think of as the Cape Cod of the Midwest), June Landing is the kind of shop that draws you in with its breezy aesthetic and keeps you coming back for the community.

Founded by Caragan Olles in the summer of 2023, June Landing started on a spontaneous whim. It all started when she walked past an empty building and thought, “What if I just went for it?”.  Spoiler!!!: she did. With a background in advertising and e-commerce, Caragan had the skills, she just needed the space. And once she had it? June Landing was born.

The name “June Landing” is packed with meaning. “June is my birth month, and it’s the start of summer. Landing is like boats pulling into shore, but also like…summer landing in your life, you know?”.  Very coastal grandma meets clever wordplay. We’re into it!

June Landing is open May through October, and it’s just Caragan running the show most days. She picks the merch, runs the site, shoots the TikToks, and connects with every customer who walks in. “I always want people to feel like they’re a part of it, not just shopping, but hanging out,” she said.

And that vibe totally comes through. The store is a mix of dreamy accessories, cute gifts, and their own branded stuff, including the Harbor Totes, which are our new summer obsession. “They’re way bigger than they look,” Caragan said. “I use them to carry everything; orders, beach stuff, you name it”.  They’re giving coastal cool and fit your whole life inside.

Over the past year, June Landing has evolved a ton. What started as “I love this, let’s sell it” has become a well-curated mix of coastal, cottagecore, and a sprinkle of Midwest magic. And Caragan? She’s pulling inspo from all over, like Chelsea from Parke and other creators building brands and communities at the same time. “I want it to feel like you’re part of something, not just buying something,” she said.

The community part? It’s working. One of Caragan’s favorite moments was when a little girl named June came into the store and lit up when she saw the name. “She asked if I could do her wedding someday,” Caragan laughed. “Like her dress, her makeup, everything. I was like, girl, say less”.

Right now, she’s in full summer mode, refreshing the store every week, launching new arrivals on Thursdays, and filming content between helping customers. “I’m just winging it every day,” she admitted. “But it’s been such a good kind of chaos”.

Whether you’re road tripping through the Midwest or scrolling for your next go to tote, June Landing is the kind of brand that makes you feel good. It’s summery, it’s cozy, and it’s got that I wanna be her friend energy.

We’ll be watching June Landing grow, and next time someone says “Wisconsin,” we’ll be like, oh yeah, that’s where the best boutique with the best beach bags come from!
