Sugary Lattes & Sequin Skirts: A Spring Mood Board

Written By : Grace Weidenhamer

Spring is like a rebirth of creativity. When the sun comes back out, my creative juices start flowing. Colors look more vibrant, patterns are more exciting, and everything feels like art. To channel this creative passion I’ve been spending quite a bit of time on Pinterest, getting inspiration for spring outfits and projects I want to recreate. In the spirit of free thinking, here is a totally random, yet highly curated, list of things I’ve been loving for the spring season:

  • ●  Capris - I didn’t hop on the capri wave until just recently, but I think there’s something so chic about them when executed well.

  • ●  Sweet lattes - Give me all the sugary sweet coffee drinks this season. I want my tastebuds to feel like they’re dancing through a lavender field on a dewy summer morning. Specific? Yes. But unachievable? I don’t think so.

  • ●  Lace - I’m wedding planning, so naturally lace is all over my Pinterest. But it made me realize we don’t utilize the fabric enough in our daily lives. It’s dainty, elegant, and timeless.

  • ●  Suede belts - I’ve come across a few suede belts on my Depop recently and have been obsessing over them ever since. A pop of red, a vibrant blue, or a rustic yellow suede belt looks so incredibly cool with any outfit.

  • ●  Ducks - Weird one, I know, but ever since I watched a farmer on YouTube show off his ducks I’ve convinced myself that I need about ten of them. Unfortunately, I don’t think my HOA will allow that, so I’ve been on the hunt for duck decor to fill my home with their essence.

  • ●  Rice Paper lamps - I love the ambiance of an orb of ambiance from cool lighting, especially rice paper lamps. They make you feel like you’re floating around on a different planet. Idk okay, they’re just cool.

  • ●  Retro Tile - I think retro, painted tile on a wall or the floor is so vibey. Think old Southwestern, desert town. Worn floor tile with some character.

  • ●  Different colored nail polish - I’m talking about painting every nail a different color, or even having an alternating pattern. I’m usually not a nail art person unless it’s super tasteful, but I love the unstructuredness of painting your nails in all different colors.

  • ●  Art Deco style - Again, when the sun comes out, so does my eclectic nature. I’ve been loving interiors with bold and colorful geometric shapes, different textures, and a moody vibe. Nothing goes together, but everything does at the same time.

  • ●  Sequins with Graphic Tees - I’ve been saving so many pins of girls wearing sequin skirts or shorts with an edgy or sporty graphic tee. I love the juxtaposition of extra girly with a side of tomboy.

  • ●  Thin scarves - I heard we’re bringing back the 90’s, and something I’ve been loving about 90’s fashion is the thin little neck scarves. Our girls in SITC rocked ‘em, now it’s our time.
