How To: Make Pinterest Worthy Outfits With Clothes you Already Own
Written By: Kitty Murphy
I don’t know about you but I feel like every-time I turn around there’s another piece of clothing that I ‘need’ to have. Whether it’s via social media, the news or just my everyday life it seems as though there is always someone telling me that I just must buy something. Because of this, I decided to create a little challenge for myself by starting a series on TikTok: recreating fall Pinterest outfits with clothes I already have in my closet. In other words, I will be shopping in my own closet this fall. Now, don’t get me wrong, this certainly isn’t a promise but I am definitely going to try my best with this. My goal is to recreate these pinterest-worthy outfits with the clothes I already have. While this may sound difficult, it truly hasn’t been, for two main reasons: I am holding myself accountable by making a TikTok about it everyday and most of the outfits start with a capsule wardrobe. For the most part, the outfits I see on Pinterest are just elevated basics or model-off-duty looks so it has been super fun to see what I can make with the clothes that are already in my closet. I will attach some of my favorite outfits I have been inspired by below!
I’ll start with my favorite so far. Probably because I have been absolutely OBSESSED with cheetah print this season. If it’s cheetah print, it’s in my closet. For this look I actually wore a zara dress with an oversized black tee and I just loved everything about it!
See what I mean? This is such a ‘pinterest’ outfit to me but it’s literally all basics! I feel like breaking down these outfits has made getting dressed in the morning one million times easier.
Another timeless outfit that is super easy to recreate and you can even put your own spin on it. I swapped out the accessory colors because I just love adding a pop of a print (usually cheetah ;) ) to my outfits.
Last but not least, another favorite of mine! I really love navy because I feel like it immediately makes an outfit seem elevated. I also wanted to get this outfit in because I now I will have to retire my mini skirts for the season soon, SADLY.
