We’re Getting Our Spark Back

Open up the windows, throw your phone across the room, and get up because we’re getting our spark back!
It’s easy to get pulled into the mundane when you’re living in your head. Day after day, making mental to-do lists, living in your Google calendar, and forgetting that life is about living. If you’re in a season of life where it feels like you can’t screw your head on straight and you barely have time to wash your hair, then this one’s for you.
Here are some ways you can add a little sparkle back into your days and ignite your spark.
● Cut wildflowers for a fresh bouquet.
● Reorganize a drawer or cabinet you never clean out.
● Use only candle light one evening.
● Embrace seasonal decor. Add some color back into your space, even if it’s cheesy.
● Make a plan to host a social gathering.
● Walk around with a sketchbook and colored pencils. Draw what you see, even if you aren’t an artist.
● Write postcards to your future self.
● Get a plant and don’t let it die.
● Experiment with your morning coffee recipes. Try making your own coffee syrup flavors.
● Take more digital pictures.
● Assign a media theme for each day. Ex: Monday’s we listen to an educational podcast, Tuesday’s we watch a YouTube video you’ve been saving, etc.
● Eat your dinner outside. And plate your food like a restaurant would.
● Take a book outside during your lunch break.
● Schedule your workouts. Plan movement you look forward to. Make it feel like a treat instead of an obligation,
● Keep refreshing afternoon beverages stocked in your office or home fridge.
● Go sit in a cafe Saturday morning without screens.
● Schedule one productive task a night instead of trying to do them all at once. Then let yourself relax the rest of the evening.
● Commit one night a week to working on a hobby.
These things are small, and don’t seem life-changing in nature. But when you add them up, you’ll start to see more vibrancy in your life; creating more joy between moments of mundane.
