The Slow Living Bucket List

Written By : Grace Weidenhamer

Remember during quarantine when every day felt like a week and time seemed to pause? As much as I’m glad that chapter is behind us, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic for those slow, quiet days.

I try to embrace the slow life, but most of the time I’m stuck in an all-or-nothing mindset. I either pack my weekends with plans—or I rot on the couch. If I have free time, I fill it to the brim. And when the inevitable burnout hits? All I want is to zone out and do nothing.

This summer, instead of chasing epic weekend plans and back-to-back trips, I’m slowing down with a “slow living” bucket list:

  • ●  Have a s’mores night

  • ●  Sit outside and paint the landscape

  • ●  Bake a dessert from scratch

  • ●  Go on a long bike ride in nature

  • ●  Plant and tend a garden

  • ●  Learn a new skill

  • ●  Start a scrapbook

  • ●  Have a picnic

  • ●  Host a board game night

  • ●  Go on a walk with friends

  • ●  Watch the sunrise

  • ●  Go kayaking

  • ●  Host a BBQ

  • ●  Do yoga outside

  • ●  Vlog the mundane

I know life isn’t meant to be one long to-do list, but if you’re anything like me, having a little structure around rest and hobbies can ease anxiety. If your schedule is packed, start small—set

aside just ten minutes a day for something on your list. Sometimes, slowing down takes intention.
