Gather ‘round: Fun & Festive Fall Hosting Ideas

Written By : Grace Weidenhamer

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean the backyard kickbacks and weekend get-togethers need to end too! Fall has the potential to be a season of gathering, spending time with people you love, and hosting some pretty awesome events.

In honor of the first day of fall, I thought I would pull together some fall hosting inspiration for the perfect fall gathering!

Harvest & Hues: One of my favorite fall activities is pumpkin painting. I have never been into carving pumpkins (too messy) but painting them is a fun way to customize your front-porch pumpkins without them rotting a week later! Host a paint & sip night with your favorite fall cocktails, print off Pinterest pumpkin inspo, and kick-off the season with creativity.

Leaves & Lattes: Not every event has to include spirits (Halloween pun not intended). Turn your kitchen or living room into a cozy cafe for a day! Create a menu of seasonal lattes, bake some cinnamon rolls, and have your people over to sip, relax, and bring on the cozy vibes.

Murder Mystery & Martinis: If you want to kick your Halloween gathering up a notch, try hosting a murder mystery party! Whether you find a game online or make it yourself, have everyone come dressed for the theme and shake up some seasonal martinis.

Game Day Grazing: Cheer on your favorite team while indulging in the best finger food game day has to offer. Turn your kitchen or coffee table into the ultimate grazing board, complete with pigs-in-a-blanket, buffalo chicken dip, or even charcuterie if you’re a boujee football fan.

Fright Night Flicks: One of my favorite fall memories was when my friends and I set up an outdoor projector and watched Halloweentown, dressed in comfy pj’s, sipping on warm apple cider, and sitting around the fire on a chilly October night. Make this a nostalgic movie marathon with popcorn balls and pumpkin treats, or show a horror flick at midnight.

Ghouls Night: Take your girls out on the town for a fall-themed ghouls night out, or embrace the cozy autumn vibes by staying in with a bottle of wine. Host a book club night, go visit a haunted house, have a dinner party, or go out to a new, hot restaurant. Fall may be cuffing season, but don’t forget about your ghouls!
