Activities to Make the Most of your Fall
Written By : Jaqcueline Rappa
Fall always feels like it flies by in the blink of an eye (sadly). But between September, October, and November, there’s still plenty of time to make the most of the season. Plan ahead with activities you’ll actually love. Sure, there are the classics like apple picking or visiting a pumpkin patch, but here are some unique ideas to try while the weather is still crisp and cozy (and the creatives will especially love):
Journaling Picnic
When the leaves shift into hues of deep red and vibrant orange, take advantage of the outdoors with a picnic. Better yet, make it a crafting picnic. Pack a basket with stickers, magazines, your journal, and some glue, and spend a few hours creating collages or vision boards. Don’t forget your favorite Trader Joe’s fall-themed snacks and enjoy a day in the sun surrounded by color.
Afternoon Tea
As the temperature cools, I always find myself reaching for a cup of tea – and fall is the perfect time to make an outing of it. Head to a spot in your city or town for afternoon tea and indulge in warm cups, dainty sandwiches, and sweet pastries. It gives such a rom-com vibe, and honestly, who doesn’t love that?
Flea Market Hopping
Why stop at one flea market when you can make a whole day out of it? Map out a little itinerary: one for clothing, one for accessories, one for art and furniture, maybe even one just for food. You’ll come home happily tired, with pre-loved treasures that bring charm to your wardrobe or home.
Solo Museum Date
There’s something so intimate and grounding about visiting a museum alone. You can linger as long as you want in front of a piece of art, interpreting it in your own way. Bring a pocket notebook to jot down feelings the art evokes, or a sketch pad to practice drawing. Let yourself soak up the history and creativity around you, and maybe end the day with a solo dinner date to complete the experience.
Whimsical Cafés
A café, but with a twist. Find a cat café, art café, or bookstore café near you so you can sip a seasonal latte and enjoy a built-in activity. If you don’t have one nearby, bring your own creative ritual to a local spot – whether that’s writing, reading, drawing, or diving into a passion project.
