Home Sweet Haven:Tips for Making your Home the Most Inviting Place

Written By : Molleigh Mae

I've said it once, l’Il say it again: I love making mood boards! It's where the creativity really starts to flow for me. There is no right or wrong way to it, snapping pictures of pieces, intermixing new with old, it helps give me a visual for not just an outfit, but for a room before you make any big decisions. If you are indecisive like me, I will ponder on a decision for daysss, but having a mood-board to refer back to, helps see the ideas laid out and not worry about it all coming together. Having a board, also will help you specify items to source and figure out what it is in particular you are envisioning for a space without spending a bunch of money down the road on what could be "not the right" stuff, or honestly things you may just not need!

Home Jewelry:

The best jewelry is the jewelry of a house. That’s what makes it "home". The cabinet pulls, potato knobs, pleaseee! Faucet finishes, light fixtures, and most Importantly, flowers. Which is the perfect touch to a well dressed room, a floral arrangement. When it comes to styling a room: Facebook Marketplace, Etsy, + vintage markets are a girl's best friend. I can't be the only one considering getting a storage unit after all of the Round Top content this year.

Lighting the Way to Cozy:

The power of lighting cannot be underestimated. To say the least: the best time of the day is "lamp o'clock". Even the light a candle gives off is inviting. I love to have a candle flickering in the powder room. Not only for the benefits but for the flame that lights the room up. Can a bathroom really be inviting? When we think inviting, we think stuff, and lots of it. I used to. Now I think: detail! An inviting room is one with eye-catching views and warm tones. Think: wallpaper, molding, gee edged marble counters, contrast contrast contrast! Keep it clean, but make it cozy through the details!

5-min from a Guest Ready Home:

One of the best things I’ve ever read was “to keep your home 5-minutes from being a quest ready home.” This way- on a whim, you have 5 minutes to fluff The pillows, light a candle, set the table, create a fresh floral arrangement. Not stressing about laundry, dishes, vacuuming, making your bed, etc.
