Fall and Winter Girls: The True Style Icons

Written By : Jacqueline Rappa

I’ll be the first to admit, I love all things summer fashion. It’s the simplicity of it—the effortlessness. A low-rise flowy skirt, a tank, sunglasses, and platform sandals, and I’m out the door. It’s a five-minute transformation that not only saves time but also looks effortlessly chic. Plus, the sun-kissed glow doesn't hurt either.

But as the colder months roll in, I’m learning to shift gears. The skirts don’t slip on as easily now, and instead, we welcome stockings, knee-high socks, and layers upon layers. And you know what? This season, I’m embracing all of it. Because those very elements are what turn an outfit into a true look. It's more intricate, more maximalist, and—most importantly—it doesn’t need to be perfect.

Accessories are the true game-changers when it comes to elevating any outfit. They have the unique ability to transform even the simplest look into something memorable, especially when they're unexpected or seem unconventional. Think of pairing a sharp blazer with a casual graphic tee—it's a juxtaposition that creates an effortless cool vibe. Or imagine heading to the grocery store in a cozy sweat set, but adding a red lip and a luxurious fur coat. Even swapping your everyday tote for a studded, slouchy shoulder bag can instantly add some edge to your outfit. It's these bold, playful choices that add personality and flair, proving that accessories are the secret weapon to standing out in style.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate some iconic moments in pop culture that prove how much more captivating fall and winter fashion truly is:

Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls

Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City

Amanda Woods in The Holiday

Sally Albright in When Harry Met Sally

Phoebe Buffay in Friends

This season is all about mixing patterns, playing with textures, and exploring silhouettes that make you stand out. Simplicity takes a backseat—this is the time to experiment and make eye-catching statements.
